Limiting God

As many of you know, for weeks I have been looking for a washing machine.  In fact, some of you have been helping me and have grown just as frustrated with one dead end after after.

Yesterday, God showed me why He didn't want me to have another used washing machine!

He wanted me to have a brand spankin' new one!

Which got me thinkin' . . . . . how often do I limit God?

  • by putting limits on my prayers, "Lord please help me find a washer on craigs list!"  (Isaiah 55:8, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways." declares the Lord.  My prayers should have been, "Lord, please provide a washing machine, in your time and in your way."
  • by doubting.  James 1:6 says, "But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like the wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind."
  • by being angry.  Ephesians 4:26 says, "In your anger, do not sin."  Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.

Those are just a few off the top of my head but there are so many more, but honestly, that is not where this is going.  At least I don't think it is.

Since I was washing the clothes in the tub, it was taking double the time to dry the clothes in the dryer and my heart was in panic mode for the power bill.  I had Chris put me up a few clothes lines so I could dry the clothes outside then finish up in the dryer if necessary.

Yes.  You can "red neck."  :)
This was actually taken after taking all the puppy sheets/blankets to the laundry mat;
but you get the picture, right?

Anyway, even though the Lord provided us with a washing machine, my heart was still tender towards the power bill.  It's getting harder and harder to make ends meet, so I have continued to use the clothes line.

This morning was no different.

As I went to take a clip off the line, I saw this.

Anyone that knows me or has followed my blog for a while knows the Lord uses feathers to speak to me, encourage me, love on me, and to confirm the direction I'm walking in.

He did that this morning by sticking that feather in the exact spot that He knew I would see it . . . . reaching for a clothes pin to hang up the clothes.

Yeap.  One more confirmation that He has it covered and I'm doing the right thing.

Psalm 91:4, "He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will find refuge . . . . . . "

I just love Him!
