Received this from a devotion my cousin received. She forwarded this to me after getting the latest update on Christopher. Just wanted to share :)
A grandfather experienced the amazing joy of watching his son try to teach his grandson how to walk. In typical beginner's style, the young father let the infant hold onto his index fingers while moving forward in joyous abandon.
But after just a couple of wobbly steps, the toddler let go and went spiraling out of reach and did a belly buster on the floor. The dad swept him up, dusted him off, and tried to comfort away his son's tears.
The grandfather asked, "Would you mind if I gave you a little tip?"
"Please do!" the son replied.
"At this age," said the grandfather, "he doesn't know that he needs to keep holding onto you to keep moving forward. So you have to hold onto him."
The young dad put the toddler back on his feet and held onto the little boy's hands allowing him to wobble forward in the secure hands of his father.
In life, we outgrow our need for our parents' steadying hands, but we will never outgrow our need to have God's hands holding onto us.
"For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." --Isaiah 41:13
Thankful He is still holding my hand :)
Prayer Challenge
Thank God that His hand is always on you and that you don't have to be afraid. He is always there holding onto you and delights when you cling to Him.
